A Miracle from the Life of St. Spyridon
One night robbers borke into his sheepfold intending to make off with the ewes, but they were rooted to the spot by an invisible force. When Spyridon found them early next morning, they shamefacedly confessed their misdeed. Moved by compassion, he freed them from their invisible bonds and admonished them to live honestly from then on; but before letting them go he gave them two sheep- by way of compensation, he said with a smile, for their pains in keeping a night-long vigil.

Irish Move Shows Bait-And-Switch on Gay Marriage

Typical of the bait-and-switch tactics used to promote gay “marriage,” the Irish Parliament has just stripped away religious exemptions contained in an amendment passed by referendum in May. The referendum (which passed by a vote of 62% to 38%) included exemptions for religious institutions, among them Catholic schools and hospitals. Proponents promised that the conscience rights of those who object on religious grounds would be protected. It took less than six months for that pledge to be broken. Attempts to redefine marriage are based on coercion. No dissent will be allowed.

California Statistics
Crime is up in 1st half of 2015 – 20% increase in violent crims and 11% increase in property crime. Car accidents, especially hit and runs (another example of how financially costly sin is!), are up – 13% in 3 years- due to neglected roads and more. We are also entering the 5th year of our terrible draught, but our legislators are too busy to build reservoirs because getting transgendered bathrooms, ending all insurance plans that don’t cover abortion as basic care, requiring Pregnancy Counseling Centers to post referrals to abortion mills on the wall of their centers, legalizing assisted suicide, removing conscience protections from vaccinations, etc. We have fewer middle class and more billionaires than ever, and 1/3 of the entire country’s welfare recipients. We are one of the youngest states in the USA, with a median age of 35, and have more illegal immigrants than any state. California is 43rd in the nation in % of voter turnout- i.e. we want the most money from the government but want to be involved least.
