Stephanie's December Blog

Last week we had some horrible weather - winds above 100 kilometres per hour and torrential rain and hail - plus power shut off for over twelve hours for some households in Melbourne - I ask, where is Summer? I’m crossing my fingers that we have some warm sunny weather by Christmas! On that note, I wanted to say a Happy Thanksgiving to my American and Canadian readers - I do hope you enjoyed the festive holidays in the lead up to the end of the year, and managed to spend some quality time with your loved ones. Now the mad rush to Christmas and New Year begins!

Despite the current weather conditions, my garden is thriving - I have the largest strawberry patch in my courtyard, several meters’ worth. It’s producing an abundance of luscious fruit - there’s nothing like strawberries still fresh from the sun! Plus, I have an intriguing new variety of rocket - Wasabi Rocket! It’s delicious, and goes really well with the strawberries as a salad. Not too spicy and just the right amount of wasabi flavor.

On the book front, while I’ve been waiting for summer to arrive, I’ve been busily working on LORD OF THE PRIVATEERS, the last installment of THE ADVENTURERS QUARTET. I’ve finished my outline and have plunged into the writing - I’m having so much fun crafting the most appropriate end, one that wraps everything up for each of the Frobisher brothers. The third installment, THE DAREDEVIL SNARED has been handed into the publishers, and the first and second installments are already available for pre-order. The countdown to the start of the quartet - and it’s a real quartet with a single major story that runs through all four romances, but each book contains one romance - has begun! The first book will be downloading and on shelves at the end of the month - keep your eyes peeled!

I’ve received some early reviews of The Lady's Command - one from Publishers Weekly reads:

“The narrative smoothly transitions between high society’s sophisticated yet superficial pleasantries and the romance of stolen glances and tender intimacy between Edwina and Declan.”

I’m hoping you’ll enjoy the book just as much. If you haven’t arranged your copy, click HERE for details.

So…What’s up next?

OUT NOW! – US-mass market paperback edition of BY WINTER’S LIGHT.

December 29, 2015 - THE LADY’S COMMAND - Volume I of THE ADVENTURERS QUARTET. Meet Captain Declan Frobisher and Lady Edwina nee Delbraith and follow them on their journey of discovery into love, marriage, and a secret mission that uncovers a dastardly scheme.

April 26, 2016 - A BUCCANEER AT HEART - the second installment of THE ADVENTURERS QUARTET. Captain Robert Frobisher takes on the baton of the mission, only to discover his bow crossing the wake of Aileen Hopkins - a lady he feels compelled to protect, and if that means joining forces…so be it.

And then?

2016 will also bring you the third and final installments of THE ADVENTURERS QUARTET.

2017 will see the next Cynster novel released, and after reading BY WINTER’S LIGHT, THE TEMPTING OF THOMAS CARRICK, and A MATCH FOR MARCUS CYNSTER, you should be able to guess which Cynster that will be. In addition, we will be releasing the next Casebook of Barnaby Adair story plus one other book featuring one of those characters you’ve all wanted to hear about for so long – you will have met the principal character in a previous book but as to which characters it will be…we’re not entirely certain ourselves! More to come on that one.

And there are many more stories on my TBW (to be written) List to follow after that. In short, there are lots more books coming your way.

Julia Mackey The most intriguing mysteries of works of Stephanie Laurens:
1.Lady Augusta Cynster (Almsworthy) Marchioness of Huntly - who are her children and grandchildren?
Lady Lady Augusta Cynster Marchioness of Huntly - wife of Herbert Marquess of Huntly in 1783 they have a two year old son Edward and wait for the second child. (The Promise in a Kiss)
In 1816 the Marquess of Huntly takes office in Westminster. (Mastered by Love)
In the period since 1817, Herbert inherits the title of Duke of Huntington and is considered one of the most intelligent and insightful nobles with him compared to Lady Osbaldeston in "A Lady of Expectations".
Their eldest son, Edward gets the title of Marquess of Huntly and cares for Miss Sophia Winterton, but she marries Jack Lester (A Lady of Expectations). In 1835, Huntingdon, big, burly gentleman was not a fool, he was a fellow campaigner Earl of Cothelstone, who organized and supervised the police (Where the Heart Leads).
Lady Marjorie Almsworthy - the daughter of Herbert Marquess of Huntly and Lady Augusta Cynster Marchioness of Huntly of Huntly Hall, Northamptonshire, got married Herbert, Lord Darent of Darent Hall in Northamptonshire and become Marjorie, Lady Darent (Tangled Reins).
The younger son - Lord Percy Almsworthy close friend Jack Lester and Harry Lester (The Reasons For Marriage). "As he leant from the saddle to shake it, she thought she detected a look of keen appraisal in Lord Percy's mild gaze. "M ' father's Carlisle, "he said, giving her a peg on which to hang his hat. It follows that he is married to the daughter of Earl of Carlisle (A Lady of Expectations). Carmarthen Earl of Carlisle granduncle Reggie Carmarthen, so the title of Earl of Carlisle inherit Herbert Carmathen, Viscount Northcote, father of Reggie. This explains the close friendship with the family Carmarthen of the family Cynster.
"Stephanie Laurens Kathie Wilkinson - Augusta's children are not in the family trees anymore because they are not Cynsters. Although Augusta appears in several other books - she's the Marchioness of Huntingdon - her children, Edward and Marjorie, do not."

Julia Mackey The most intriguing mysteries of works of Stephanie Laurens:
But the biggest mystery to me is connected with the conception and birth of Mr Richard Melville Cynster, what power made Sebastian Sylvester Cynster 5th Duke of St. Ives change beloved wife Helena Rebecce de Stansion Comtesse d'Lisle (Cynster) Duchess of St. Ives and who this Lady Eleanor (McEnery), her family of lowland Scotland is associated with faith in the Mother Goddess and why she held the ancient necklace oldest followers of the ancient goddess?
I beg you, open this mystery in one of his novels about her granddaughter or grandsons Lady Eleanor.
