There is a discrepancy in income between the two main characters. Is that deliberate or is that just how the men seemed to you?

In the case of my other stories in this series, it was an accident of characters, but in this case, I didn’t see any other way. Simon was from a wealthy family, a very wealthy and conservativefamily (not in a good way). However, Adrian is a college professor and not that old. So unless he had family money too, he wouldn’t have that much. It’s simple math. Plus, in Simon’s case, he’s been used for his money before, so that added to his pain—having Adrian have money would negate a needed healing for him. The original group of friends was a sort of hodgepodge of class and money that bonded around college time and stayed close. Each had a different issue or set thereof, each had more or less money, family, education, etc. But it wasn’t until we add in their partners that we get into the real issues, lol. In this case, Simon is on Seth’s level moneywise, though he doesn’t act it or even show it most of the time. Having grown up around people that use money as a weapon and think that money can solve any issue, he hated showing his off... especially after finding out more than once a guy was with him only forhis wallet, not for him. Adrian is the opposite. He’s middle class, careful with his money, has student loans, pays his bills faithfully, and doesn’t want to be a burden to anyone. Their conversation about mortgages in the story was fun because Simon sort of stares at Adrian confused and says he paid by writing a check for the house he owns. Yes, like that was a normal thing to do. O.o  But money, especially the differences or the lack of any, are significantissues for many couples, so it’s been interesting to see how the characters react. Simon is worried, Adrian doesn’t want Si’s money, and the rest... well, you’ll have to read to find out ;)

Description:

Simon Tyler knows his job as a gay romance author makes his lack of faith in love more than a little ironic, but he’s tired of being used for his wallet. When a night out turns into a matchmaking scheme orchestrated by his best friends—though he’s not the target—Simon’s not thrilled, but since he’s sworn off happily-ever-after anyway, he goes along with it… until he meets the object of their efforts, Adrian, and finds perhaps he hasn’t given up on love after all. Professor Adrian Keys has tried to date hearing men before, but being deaf himself, he’s never had any success at making a connection. After his friends con him into going out and Adrian realizes it’s all an elaborate plan to set him up, he braces for yet another failure, only to discover there is a spark—except it’s not with the man his friends had in mind, but with Simon Tyler instead. Not all their friends have found a way past their romantic failures, but Simon and Adrian might be on the path to happily-ever-after. Resource Links:

“I found it a beautiful tale of unhappiness changed to romance and then love with a happy ending.” —Rainbow Book Reviews, on “Designs of Desire” “Designs of Desire is a tough realistic book that is touched by violence countered by the growing love between the two heroes.” —Sensual Reads, on “Designs of Desire” “It’s a great book to fall into and enjoy some really good characters.”

—Love Bytes, on “Desires’ Guardian” “This is my favorite in this series so far. I love seeing how these characters are growing, all of them. As individuals, as couples, as friends, and as a family.” —MM Good Book Reviews, on “Desires’ Guardian” “The writer did an excellent job with the characters, they are likable and perfect. Not perfect in the way that they have no flaws, but in a way that they grab you and complement each other.” —Love Bytes Reviews, on “Temptations of Desire”
