How to say DOUBTER and DAUGHTER

Today’s question is from a new YouTube subscriber:

“Hi Jennifer, I would love that please you mention the difference in the pronunciation of Daughter and Doubter.”

DAUGHTER has 4 sounds:  D-OH-T-ER

DOUBTER has 4 sounds:  D-OW-T-ER

The difference in the words is the vowel.

The OH, the short o sound, is made with a wide open oval mouth.

The OW is long and is made by moving your mouth from wide open circle to a pucker.

Welcome to the channel and thanks for the question.
