How much trouble can it be to move a palm tree? - on Friday Snippets #Fridaysnippets

Scene set - Capri and Thall landed their small plane on a remote island. A storm blew through and down a palm tree on the runway. Thatll's been trying to remove it.
Thall collapsed on a couch and sighed. It wasn't much cooler in the plane, but at least they were out of the scorching sun. Capri held out a cold Coke. "Your shoulders are red. You should have put sunscreen on." She stretched out on the couch opposite him.He chugged half the can of liquid coolness. "No sun screen. Didn't plan on spending a day hauling a tree off a runway." He swiped the can across his hot brow. "You're doing an awesome job cleaning the runway. I'll be able to takeoff no problem once the tree is moved.""How you doing with that?" She gulped a couple of mouthfuls of soda.Releasing a loud, soda-induced belch, he chuckled. "Excuse me. Doing pretty good. I keep checking the angle to see if the tire can pass the tree, and I'd say I'm close."Capri lifted her head. "You mean we'll get out of here today?""I think so."She sat up, reached for her purse and pulled out her cell. "I'll just text them and get them to move the meeting to tomorrow.""And I'll lie here pretending I don't ache in every muscle from trying to move a tree bigger than me. Lumberjack wasn't on my résumé."She snorted as she keyed in her text message. "Well, getting my ass checked out while cleaning debris off a runway is not in the job description of a Chief of Operations.""With an ass that cute, it should be." He rested his head against the pillow. "Taking a nap." Within moments, he'd drifted off to sleep.Something landed on his chest and startled him. He groped around until his hand hit a small bag."Lunch." Capri stood next to him. "It's pretty much what we're down to. Peanuts and pretzels." She dropped several more bags onto his chest. He sat up and yawned. The bags slid to his lap. "How long was I out?""'Bout an hour. I had a nap too." She tore open a bag and reached inside to grab a snack.Thall crumpled his last snack bag and tossed it onto the table, then gulped the last of his drink. "Okay, I'm off. Going to move this tree come hell or high water.""I'll straighten this up and meet you outside."Thall stood, stretched his sore muscles and returned to his task. On his third pull, Capri stepped next to him. When he relaxed, she ran her hand along his arm. "Oh, I just love to see a man all sweaty." She batted her eyelashes."Yea, well I like seeing a woman all sweaty so get out here and start pulling.

What people are saying about Capri's Fate
Cute, fun read
I received this book as an ARC for an honest review.
I'll start by saying, I'm not the biggest erotic reader, but I had to give this one a try. Call me biased since I had an advanced reading of this one, but I actually really enjoyed it.
I thought Capri's Fate was an adventurous, light hearted read peppered with dashes of humor and sexy intimate scenes.
Something I really like about Ms. Devore is her way with changing the mood while I'm reading her books. Not going to lie, when I initially started chapter one, I thought "oh dear, what am I about to read?" Then, of course, as I continued to read, the mood shifted and the romance sprang to life.
I'll also confess I'm not exactly a person that roots for the characters to get down to business, but yeah, I totally did in this book. Poor Capri and Thall, at points, I began to wonder if they might never obtain their "happy" times.
All in all, I thought this was a quick, light read that had a nice dose of adventure in some exotic locations, some steamy scenes, and a cute happily ever after.
Good twist on Greek myths.
Capri's Fate is a paranormal erotic romance. Here we have the story of, Capricious. Capri for short. She is a divorcee. A thirty two year old woman. She is an executive. She is highly paid too. She is definitely sexually repressed. I can definitely relate. She is a very down to earth, logical, sensible woman. Thall is the son of a fate. Lachesis, to be exact. He has lived for a very long time. Has never once fallen in love. Until Capri. There are some very interesting characters like, Kat a receptionist at a dentist's office. Kathy Stoller. She is also Definitely Trouble. That's right Trouble with a capital T. She has had some amazing adventures with Capri. As a matter of fact, they have been arrested from a couple of said adventures. She invites Capri to a convention center. This convention center is really a show called "Erotic Notions". A sex show. And sex toy shop. It was funny when she was stunned. I would be too. For sure. There she hears a deep voice which tells her," Do you happen to own a pair of red fuzzy handcuffs?". That's their first meeting. Not face to face. But mind to mind. His voice is very seductive. Very erotic. And very persuasive. I loved the retelling of this Greek myth. With all of the three sisters as the fates. All of the characters are humorous. Truly very creative lovemaking. I had to stop to fan myself and sigh a lot of times. My toes really curled. I applause to the author. For that. It's worth your time and money.
