5 Years!

On 1 December 2010 I published Champion of the Rose and The Silence of Medair (on the same day, to make the question of 'my first book' a matter of some quibbling).  While it would have been a nice bit of symmetry to publish The Sleeping Life this month, it looks like it's going to be a late January-at-earliest publication.

However!  I can still celebrate five years of being published, and as always enjoying writing and having people read my books, and even saying nice things. :)  I doubt I'll hit full-time author status any time this decade, but I'll definitely continue to put out one to two books per year just because I really like doing it. [And commissioning art for them. ;) ]

A giveaway is definitely in order - my entire back catalogue, plus my upcoming The Sleeping Life in whichever format you prefer (TPB or ebook), when TSL finally releases.

This time I'll combine it with a fun survey (well, fun for me).

https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/NFMS5YB

You can fill in the survey without entering to win (or enter without filling in the rest of the survey), and the competition will remain open until the day before release (whenever, sigh, that happens to be).

Thanks so much everyone for reading me!  Whenever I'm feeling down about my writing or suffering from self-publisher's chip, all I have to do is read the wonderful reviews, comments and fan mail I've received these past five years and bask. :D

Estara Congratulations! Any book from you at any time is welcome ^^ - I shall start on my traditional comfort reread of the Touchstone Trilogy soon. Reread Hunting this year and enjoyed it even more than the first time ^^

Already have all available books :D

I've been trying to work out a good prize for people who already have my books - would you like to name a character instead?

Estara O.O *gulp* if I should win, that would be very cool, yes.

Chachic Congraaaaats! I'm so happy that I've discovered your books. I love both Touchstone and Medair and have reread both since I first picked them up.

Estara *grins* I did the survey right away, but I can mess up your numbers and just do it again.

ETA: I am relieved - and think it very wise of you - that they shall only be a minor character, whoever gets named (by whomever)... have I covered all the possibilities? :D

David How about write a short scene fanfic style from the winner's favorite book?

Ha - it's an interesting thought, but fanfic takes time away from writing the main stories. If the winner proposes such a thing, I guess I'd consider it, but it would have to be a very short scene.
