Toss the Baby Into the Air
None of us would do that, of course, too, risky and not PC. But maybe you’ve seen it done. The baby loves it! She laughs and gurgles and smiles. It’s just the greatest thing! She has no fear. The possibility of being dropped has no place in her mind. What happens to that kind of trust?
We get dropped a few times, you say. Yes, but Nietzsche says what doesn’t kill us makes us stronger. What if, like the baby, we can access a knowing beyond what science and rationality can show us? A knowing that says no matter how it seems, we can never be dropped. That even when it seems like we have been dropped, it’s just Life tossing us into the air again, and thats an opportunity grow, turn within, laugh, gurgle and smile.
