What about buying an eiderdown comforter?

Now that the weather turned colder, my husband, Gerry, turns on his under-the-mattress-pad heater.  This morning he considered buying an eiderdown comforter.  The down is from the eider duck and is quilted between Egyptian cotton.  The eiderdown comforter is unrivalled in softness, and for its weight keeps the body mighty warm.  This one he was looking at costs $17,000!  Gerry closed his iPad.  Who could afford these?
