If only we were to believe in ourselves, At least half as much as we believe in others, We would be better off. The problem lies within, So deeply rooted within us all, And it may sound so very simple, But we are complicated creatures of habit, Prone to giving self-destruction Our goodness of grace.
And like the trees, we should stand tall, Not be so reluctant to shake things up some, And just let our leaves fall. This sleep is but for a short while, It’ll do us some good.
Rejuvenate and recharge: I used to be alive once. Now all I do is stand here waiting, Afraid of what’s to come. Life is all about taking chances, and that time is now. We need to pick ourselves up by the roots. Stretch our branches abroad and so high, In seeking out new soil, It does much to cleanse such restless spirits as ours ... Unrelenting souls.
We shall be reborn, And become grounded once more. So here we are, standing erect and with pride. It is the greatest feeling, This feeling we have manifested, deep within our core. Aware that one day our boughs may break, That we may fall to the wayside. Knowing now more than ever, all wasn’t for naught.
We should charge hard and give it our all, From this day forth, Until the day we rot or are blown over Then and only then, unified and with dignity...
We shall fall.
