I wrote the blog in an attempt to offer some perspective. Yes, she crossed a couple of lines, and people "Thorny" was close to offline have every right to be pissed. But she didn't murder anyone. The intense vilification the community often indulges in when "catching" someone in situations like this should stop. It's almost as if they delight in nailing someone to the cross and throwing shit at them.
There's no shame in being taken in by someone. Happens all the time, and not only online. Lick your wounds, be an adult, and move on. It's healthier for everyone if you do.

As for the argument itself and: Theo wrote: "But she didn't murder anyone"
It's not murder by a long shot, no. But a conman is a conman, and that has its own laws and legislation. If someone came to your door, showing false ID and soliciting money under that false ID, you would have called the police, no ifs, buts, or 'heck, they haven't killed anyone.'
Just because it's done over the internet doesn't make the impact any less of a crime. It doesn't make it hurt any less. In fact, because we share such a close community in m/m, it hurts more.

If the people who gave her gifts and/or money feel they have a case against her, they should file charges.
Perhaps a case could even be made against those people who knew about this months ago and didn't say a word.

I'm all for learning who's behind Thorny, believe me, but without evidence to see how this link is being made...
