Marcel Ray Duriez CLS 2/17/11 Teacher: McNelis Richard Rodriguez,”Blaxicans’ and Other Reinvented Americans” Mount Aloysius College, Cresson Pennsylvania, 2010-11. “Blaxicans’ and Other Reinvented Americans” Why do some people like to give nonsense categories to people of color or of non-white decent? Richard Rodriguez is the anther of an article titled “Blaxicans’ and Other Reinvented Americans”. What is stated in his article is how government and the working class gives classifications to other Americans on how they look or if their immigrants. We all are past immigrants to the US, so why should we be given a one size fits all category for different type’s immigrants. The U.S is an English specking country, that is stuck is in old fashion thinking, we our most of the time naïve to others and their new ideas. We do not like to change the normalcy of every day ways or what we have learned to think about others. This article speaks on how the term “Hispanic” is nothing but a made up word, and that the US is need of an improved system of classifying their citizens.
