End of an Era: The Collector

It is with mixed feelings that I impart my latest book news today.

For the first time I am reporting, not the release of a new book, but the removal of a book from my sales list.

The Collector– my first ever solo anthology- has had its rights returned to me today. Not because it wasn’t selling, but because, after 10 yrs, I had the choice as to whether to keep it with the original publisher, or take it back.

After some thought, I decided to take back the rights- but at the current moment I’m undecided as to where to place it. Do I try and re-publish it with someone else, or self publish it myself?

I can’t begin to imagine how many words I’ve written since I first scribbled The Collector into this notebook!

Whatever happens to this anthology, I do know that a re-edit is in order! My style has changed a great deal in the last decade, and I’d like to give those old words a bit of a polish and brush up.

I also can’t help but wonder what the new version of ‘The Collector’ will look like. It has already had two covers in its ten years of life- and I have loved them both.

The Collector 1

I have a distinct dislike of erotica book covers with half naked men on the front (muscled torsos are a massive turn off for me), nor am I keen on folk in the throes of passion. Surprising for an erotica writer perhaps, but I can’t help thinking these things are best left to each readers own imagination.

I concede however, that maybe something slightly more sensual is in order-although I have always liked those boobs!). Cover ideas are welcome if you have them!

I might even rewrite the blurb- and maybe add a new story …ummmmm….

So although it is very much the end of an era, it is also the start of a new one- and this collector is still collecting…
