To me, the desire of supposedly intelligent and educated people—in the 21st century—to incite religious war is unfathomable. Most of these men and women are, of course, self-serving and seeking notoriety. None are interested in the potential harm that will come to many, who do not have the luxury to spout polemic from the safety of a television or radio studio or a heavily controlled speaking venue.
Freedom of speech and freedom of religion are used as tools to destroy both. Being powerless is frustrating, when one would like to take a shovel and hit each one in the face. And, words of rational humans do no good against those that hide behind self-righteous and freedoms they do not deserve.
Things will become worse, before we can enjoy peace and quiet. I only hope that the conflagration these idiots seek will not affect me or those I care about.
