What happened in Paris is terrible. I'm praying for the victims of the attacks and their friends and family. #prayforparis

I was so worried about you and glued to the TV trying to get as much info out to you as I heard the BBC was useless at that time and CNN was reporting everything so quickly. I remember being the one to break this horrible news to you since you were so close to the Bataclan..."It was 11:32. Someone Tweeted me that 60 were confirmed dead. That’s when I started crying."
I was relieved that you and your family were safe and knew you would have quite a late night. I hope you and your friends and family are on the mend. Love across the ocean...

I never wanted to visit Paris. Ever.
Until I read Die for Me.
I bookmarked every place Kate and Vicent passed, googled every street and building, any historical sites, bridges. Then, I realized I always wanted to visit Paris, I just never knew how and I needed a guide. The Revenants trilogy where my guide.
Last June I had the fortune of finally visiting Paris. First place I went was Rue du Bac. I walked from "Le Point Royal" until the end of the street (quite a walk).
One place I wanted to visit was Oberkampf Station and by visiting the neighbourhood I guess I passed by your humble abode. I chose to buy a sandwich and some fruit and sit on Square du Bataclan to eat my lunch (a thing a lot of Parisians, and Londoners, are quite fond of doing… having lunch on parks and squares sitting on the grass or benches).
Last Friday, as I saw everything unfolding from far away in Brazil, my heart ached. I went to my photo files, back to June 2nd. I saw on some blurred 'selfies' the facade of the Bataclan and then I started crying and praying for everyone one. The ones I met during this vacation, their loved ones, and even the ones I did not know but somehow made Paris one of the greatest cities I have ever visited.
I could never imagine that one of my favourite authors (I read books but I'm not used to search about their personal lives) lived blocks away of the horrors of last Friday.
May you and your loved ones never lose fate in a life with peace. As a wise wizard once said: “Happiness can be found even in the darkest of times, when one only remembers to turn on the light”.
Is it right to like a status like that? Well let's say I like it because you and your family are alright. I witnessed a few things in my life that I wish unseen, but terror like this I have not yet encountered (thank God). This is so sad and unbelievable. But it reminds me of something I read once: when you watch something horrible in the news, look out for the helpers. There are always helpers.
Amy,I can only imagine the fear you felt for you, your family, and all of Paris. My heart and prayer goes out to all of you. I know seeing something like that whether it being in front of you or watching miles away can take a lot out of you. I was 11 years old, when i watched the world trade centers fall. I was in my 7th grade algebra class watching the live footage. At the time non of us knew what was going on. We just knew our lives would be changed forever. I lived near a military instalation at the time. The base, whole town, whole country went on alert. There was a friend of mine whos parent was in the Pentagon. When it was terrorized, she screamed. I will not ever forget that fear, its hard not to. It is scary to realize at a young age hate does exist. Though, we can not let those evil people win. France just like America is a strong nation. A nation that will prevail against this horrible act of terrorism. We may never understand in our life time why or how people can so this to another. Though, "today we are all French". God bless you and the people of France.
