Grains of Sand - Victor A. Davis
I will admit that I have not been an avid reader of fantasy literature but Goodreads author Victor A. Davis is making me a fan. I have just finished reading his collection "Grains of Sand".
In this collection of short stories, Davis takes us on several dark but highly engaging journeys. There an Escher-like tale involving constantly shifting tunnels, hallways, and staircases where the line between reality and imagination is totally blurred. Another story takes us to a dark ship on a black lake where stern schoolmasters enforce harsh discipline with even harsher punishments for offenders.
Look for my review soon on Goodreads and Amazon. I highly recommend the book and have rated it 4 1/2 stars. Had I read more fantasy with which to compare it, I would probably have given it a 5.
