2011 – The Year of the Ebook

With all the hoopla about the zodiac signs changing, you probably don't want to hear about a new prediction. But someone suggested it, so I just have to toss it out there.

2011 – The Year of the Ebook

Could it be? Are we there? Yahoo News is reporting that Kindle books are outselling paperback books on Amazon. Is this news to you?

I have to say, it was a surprise to me. But only in the timing. I'm, obviously, in Camp Ebook and I'm thrilled with the way the market is progressing (my sales included.)

I'm also pleased with the curiosity I'm seeing amongst readers, even diehard paperbook fans.

So what do you think?  Will this be the year that ebooks really take off? Will one in four of your friends purchase an ebook reader? Will you make the switch? Will you embrace the new formats and the smaller to-be-read pile toppling off your bedside table? Will 2011 be the year of the ebook?

I have to say: it very well could be!
