Evangeline Reviews “Burning Up Flint” by Laurann Dohner

Hello, Readers!!!

After receiving some requests for me to reviews books I have read, I decided to start Evangeline Reviews. The first book I am going to review for you is Burning Up Flint (Cyborg Seduction Book 1) by Laurann Dohner.

Summary

The book opens with Mira, our heroine, who is on a shuttle back to Earth after visiting a space station for work. Unfortunately, the shuttle seems to be experiencing some jarring effects which have her and the other people on board the shuttle concerned. It seems that their concerns are founded when they realize that they are about to be boarded by potential space pirates only to find out that it is definitely not space pirates. In walks Flint, our hero, who is a cyborg which Mira thought had been killed off many years ago (at least that’s what the Earth’s government told everyone). Flint and Mira seem to be drawn to each other whether it is just merely a curiosity or something more only time will tell. She willingly takes his hand and walks aboard his ship into unknown territory.

There are some HOT scenes that follow, but Mira and Flint seem to be having some issues with communicating (sounds like a normal relationship to me. LOL). Some issues arise from their miscommunication which causes a lot of problems not just for Mira and Flint but for those around them.

Will these two be able to work through their problems and start communicating, or will these two burn up from the flames surrounding them? You will have to read Burning Up Flint to find out. ;)

My Take

It was actually a quick read for me taking only a few hours, but it was filled with lots of HOT scenes (which I thoroughly enjoyed), twists and turns, and some interesting characters which include not only the two main characters but also some of the side characters. I am looking forward to reading the future books to find out what happens to all the other characters that I have been introduced to so far.

The world is a very interesting one. Makes one consider what would we do or how we would react if we created sentiment beings that aren’t fully human. Would we toss them aside, or would we welcome them with open arms? The Earth in this book decided to toss them aside, so the Cyborgs went out and made their own world where they had to learn how to survive. It’s interesting to learn a little about this world they created. The similarities and the differences to the Earth that created them.

Unsurprisingly, there are some communication problems between Mira and Flint, since they come from two different worlds (literally). What do we expect from the ones we love, and what would we consider soft and hard limits when it comes to each other’s differences? These are interesting questions that can be seen in this book.

Conclusion

Let me know what you think of my review of Burning Up Flint by Laurann Dohner. Have you read it or not? If you have read it, do you agree with my take on it? Also, let me know what you think I should read and review next. I would love to hear from all of you.
