BRAVO, Benedict!!!!!! 

I am beyond disgusted that anyone has criticised him for taking 2 minutes to ask people to help in one of the largest refugee crises in recent history. This is the world’s problem and bravo to Benedict for using whatever means he personally has - the largest of which is certainly his fame! - to appeal to people to help! Bravo to him also for not giving a single fuck whether people are pissed at him over it or not. Criticising someone for trying to help REFUGEES, aka people who are running for their lives, is one of the lowest, pettiest things you can possibly do. 

As a side note, as someone who has been to Syria (in 2000, before the war broke out), and is currently working with a committee to bring refugees to her city, let me just say that if you don’t care about this situation or can’t figure out why Syrians are fleeing their country, google the words “Damascus damage” and be prepared to be shocked and horrified. Damascus is(/was) the longest continually inhabited city in human history and it’s been largely laid to utter waste. I, for one, am fiercely grateful that people like Ben are taking the time to help in whatever way they can. Bless him.
