I love the holiday season! So I have decided to organize another Book Secret Santa for all the bibliophiles of Tumblr!
HOW DOES IT WORK?
Anyone who wants to participate will send me a message or an email (mythousandlifetimes@gmail.com) with their NAME, ADDRESS, and THREE BOOKS on their wishlist for this year before December 1. I would recommend sending me an email, as I had a number of problems last year with tumblr’s messaging system deleting my messages. I WILL ALWAYS MESSAGE YOU TELLING YOU THAT I RECEIVED YOUR INFO AND THAT YOU HAVE BEEN ENTERED. If you do not receive a message from me check in, because it is possible that your message got lost.
On December 1 I will then match people up and send them their Secret Recipients information. Then you can feel free to drop by their blog and leave then anonymous kind messages or clues and riddles about who you are. Then you get to pick ONE of the books on their list to ship to them. You can send it yourself, or feel free to use Book Depository since they have a huge selection of books and they will ship for free.
When you receive your book, I want everyone to do a Book Selfie part 2! So we can see all the books everyone is getting! And then once you’ve received your book your Santa can reveal themselves.
I CAN PICK ANY THREE BOOKS?
Yes and no. Pick books that won’t be terribly difficult to find, and don’t pick books that could cost more than $25.
CAN I REQUEST SOMEONE FROM A SPECIFIC COUNTRY?
Of course, you are welcome to specify that you would prefer to send to someone in the same country/continent/planet as you and I will always do my best to accomodate those desires, I know that shipping can sometimes be tricky.
CAN I SEND THEM MORE THAN 1 BOOK/EXTRA PRESENTS?
I don’t want to discourage anyone from gift giving, and I think it’s really kind to want to send someone something special, but this is obviously not required. It’s simply a book exchange with the freedom to turn it into more if you would like.
HOW CAN I FOLLOW ALL THE FUN?
Make sure you use the tag Book Secret Santa, that way everyone can see the joy being spread!
WHAT IF I DON’T RECEIVE A BOOK?
You can think of me as the Elf of this whole process. If, by December 31, you have not received your book, contact me and I will contact your Santa to figure out what is going on.
