A few months ago, I decided to approach weight loss like I did writing my first book. Just keep your head down and push through, day-in and day-out.
Month 1: Determined and dedicated, I lost 11lbs.
Month 2: Not so determined or dedicated, but I maintained most of my weight loss.
Month 3- Well, I didn't fall off the wagon so much as jumped -- right into a big bag of M&Ms (peanut - yummy!). Gained five of the eleven pounds back.
That's when I realized that approaching weight loss like writing a book wasn't going to work for me. You see, when I fall into my "non-writing" slumps (and I do have those), at least when I go back to my book it didn't erase itself.
