We’re watching Waxworks (Das Wachsfigurenkabinett 1924).
When I first saw this film about 10 years ago, upon only seeing the title and vague description, I imagined the story would be about a guy who’d been commissioned to write about wax figures in a museum after hours, and then the figures come to life and terrorize him. But was it all in his imagination, or was there real danger? That would have been an awesome movie, but that’s not what it’s about. Yes, the guy’s been commissioned to write about the figures, but he just imagines what each of their lives was like. Still interesting, but not the same.
