NEW TCJ TALKIES: Isaac Cates on Asterios Polyp by David Mazzucchelli

Cartoonist and publisher Isaac Cates gets comfy in the Talkie Hutt for a chat about David Mazzucchelli’s prestige Pantheon graphic novel, which it feels like nobody ever talks about.

As I mention in the intro, this book has apparently sold over 40,000 copies, so that shows that getting talked about on the twitter or not doesn’t necessarily correlate to whether book sales are good.

Everybody: check out Isaac’s Kickstarter campaign to reprint issue one of his all-ages Cartozia Tales anthology. There are a lot of great cartoonists involved in this project. Issue one features some excellent comics by Dylan Horrocks and Jon Lewis, well worth the price of admission. There are only five days left in the campaign, and a little over $1000 left to go, so definitely go and help them out.
