I didn't know you were considering dropping out of writing fanfic! Egads! I'm glad you've decided not to let the haters harsh your squee - and not just because reading your work adds to my squee :) They are always going to find something to hate. I'm sorry

It was always more just that I’m angry about the fact that writers and artists have to take this crap when they’re already contributing their time, passion, and talent for free, you know? After I read somehow that I had written “too much” - just something about that felt very much like the last straw. I get someone not liking my stuff and deciding not to read it. Fine. No one can be everything to everyone, and I’m pretty picky about what I choose to read, myself. I get that. But to chastise someone for giving TOO MUCH? What the actual fuck?????? And when I posted about it, literally dozens of people messaged me privately to share their stories of hate and abuse at the hands of other people in this community. It’s really not okay. I’m not going to stop doing what I do, as long as it suits me to do it, but I just hate that this happens to people. It doesn’t need to and I wish that we, as a community, could be more decisive about stopping it. 

But yeah: I’m still here, and I’m still writing.
