Reading Week Life Update...

To all who are reading this,

Today's post is another update on where I am with my life. I haven't had chance to properly write on this blog - I've been so snowed under, especially with all the rubbish health stuff going on. I've got half-term/reading week off, so this gives me the perfect opportunity!

I'm on a partial break from playing freshmeat roller derby with The Grim Reavers at the moment, due to time and finances. I really can't wait until I can get back properly - I'm hoping that when my money situation clears up, I'll be back to having achy arms, achy legs, a sore bum, and having lots of fun with the girls and guys of derby!

University is as challenging as ever! I'm learning new things that I can apply into life, even though the assignments themselves take some time to get your head wrapped around. It has to be said though, I think my favourite classes are Lifespan Development - it's just so interesting! All of my tutor's are lovely, with different teaching styles. My day's at university are pretty hectic - here's what I get up to during this first semester:
Get set for learning!
I have classes on Monday - lecture on Social Policy, seminar on Preparing to be a Professional, lecture on Lifespan Development, and seminar on Research and Study Skills.
Tuesday's are seminar's on Lifespan Development and Social Policy.
And then, I undertake a full day of placement on Wednesday at a primary school, which I obviously can't disclose on the blog for confidentiality and safeguarding reasons.

Reading week is the chance for tutors to mark up already submitted work, take stock of where the students learning is, and give them a chance to further their independent study. And of course, it gives them a break from the actual teaching! It feels weird not being in classes or at placement these past few days and I've had a chance to breathe and take stock of situations that are going on in my life.

Now, I'm all set to get my formative assignments planned and prepared - all I need is a cup of tea to get me started!

And I really hope that I start posting a few more regular features - I miss blogging!

Yours, with eternal ink,

Zoe
