Well, that time of year is fast approaching. NaNoWriMo is almost upon us and I find myself oddly excited for this year's go.
For those that don't know, I've done Camp NaNo a couple times, and failed miserably. Due to a combination of events in my personal life (like getting married and purchasing a house), not only did I not get my writing done for Camp NaNo, but I wasn't writing at all!
But there are some things I want to talk about.
First off, I won a
Coyotl Award for Best Anthology 2014 for my anthology
Abandoned Places. I was so stunned I had problems walking up to get my award! I am deeply appreciative of the love that the anthology got and grateful beyond words. For highlights, head

Next, if you are ever in the Newport area, check out the
Sylvia Beach Hotel. My wife and I spent a week in the Emily Dickenson room and loved every moment of it. From sunsets on Nye Beach, to dinners at the Tables of Content, to reading in the hotel's third story library with a cup of mulled wine, it was quite the experience. I can not recommend this place enough to readers and writers alike. Each room is themed after a famous series or author, and having glanced in more than one of the rooms, they really went all out.
And lastly, to bring it all around, not only will I be doing NaNo this year, but my wife will be attempting it as well. I haven't done a couple's NaNo before, so it should be an interesting experience. We will be talking about it, hopefully, when all is said and done, and you will be able to find that on the Furry Writer's Guild's
blog page.
So there you have it.
Been a busy couple months... hell, a busy year! But now it's back to the grind and back to writing!
Good luck with NaNo and happy writing!
