FINALLY

At long last I can talk about my novel without saying "my forthcoming novel". Creatures On Display is out now and slowing working its way onto bookshelves in bookstores and domiciles. I am not shy in the self-promotion department, and so I spend my days now going around to bookstores and introducing my latest creation, encouraging orders. With Barnes & Noble you have to be in their system and that is in process, maybe another couple weeks, but the independent stores can order w/o all that rigamaroll. Of course there's always the old standby, Amazon. Creatures and its author will be featured in 2 periodicals - the Columbia [MO] Tribune this Sunday 10-25-15 and the December, 2015 issue of St. Louis Magazine; I have 8 signings / readings lined up, a mix of bookstores, libraries, bars, and coffeehouses. I'm really trying with this one, because I so believe in it.
It's a fairly large paperback, almost 6 by 9, 360 pages, and so one selling point, foolish as it sounds, is to tell people, "Hey, just in terms of heft, you're really getting your moneys' worth!" At least I think that's funny. Another quirky thing is color; I'm very keen on colors. Of my previous books there was a blue cover, a maroon cover, a grayish-colored cover, and now I can say I have a novel with a yellow cover. Yellow is a rather hopeful color, don't you think? That's it for now. Cheers, Wm.
