We spoke to Paolo Paraiso of Backyard Kitchen + Brew to get to know this farm-to-table resto at the UP Town Center. "We purchase our supplies from small local farms and suppliers in nearby provinces to ensure fresh and somehow organic ingredients for food," he shares. The restaurant is called Backyard, because of the very Pinoy tradition of setting up a family gathering in the backyard. Whether it's someone's birthday or just a spur-of-the-moment inuman session of your kuya and his barkada, the backyard is where people come together. "So that translates to the look of the restaurant—things we usally see in our backyard. Recycled things, lots of wood," Paolo explains.
