Geography Quiz

Last night, driven by an oddity that occurred to me, I drew up a geography quiz that I suppose is solely intended for those interested in geography to any degree.

The first point I should make is that if I took my own test–if someone else had made it up–I think I would have gotten six or seven out of ten. Of course, when I take it now I get all ten right.

One interesting result of the test is that for those with a good grasp of geography of this kind–basic surface facts, what and where and how long and such–should reason well at times and arrive at the wrong answer.

Two people with equal geographic knowledge could take the test, one scoring three, the other seven. Blind guessing gets at least four.

Anyone who gets all ten and with authority should be working against the US Department of State on behalf of the UN or Médecins Sans Frontières.

I will post the answers in two days. If you can’t wait and don’t want to look them up, contact me on facebook messages or email me at rick.harsch@gmail.com
