Integrity vs Integrity

Two powerful stories today really moved me. Two stories of men whose integrity is not for sale.



First, Gil Meche, a major league pitcher due for a $12MM contract this year. Gil has not performed at a level of which he is proud so he is walking away rather than collecting the final $12MM on his contract. Regardless of how much he has been paid before, it is remarkable that anyone would do this. His moral compass did not allow him to accept a large sum of money for failing to deliver. That is impressive. Honor.
