Gates

Nehemiah 12:25 Mattaniah, and Bakbukiah, Obadiah, Meshullam, Talmon, Akkub, were porters keeping the ward at the thresholds of the gates.

Lets talk about gates again. Because it is so important to know its role. God wants us to be on our guard. The enemy can strike at any time … we should be watchful at platforms that He will want to use. The porters played a very important role in protecting the city and not permitting any improper movements in or out. We should always be on our guard at situations that can provide access into our destiny to destabilize us. These can be subtle. The baby Jesus was hidden from Herod, not because God could not protect Him, but because God had elected that Christ be hidden at that particular time. It takes sensitivity to understand how God is working with us and when He is hiding us from evils. The most important gate is that which guards our heart … we must not be taken by surprise by lurking evil motives of revenge and envy.

Ask God even before you go to the obvious places… be careful of events that you have not checked with God. Know that the enemy is always looking for ways to humiliate and destroy your future or destiny. Be strong only when you know that your guard is up … praying without ceasing actually means do not ever let your guard down … not for a brief moment. Be sober, be vigilant … be moderate …be self-controlled.

Suggestions for Prayer

Lord, keep the door of our soul … help us to be in you always, no matter what. Amen

As Nehemiah’s wall was built, so will we see a reconstruction in all that may appear in distress and in waste. Nehemiah trusted and feared God, putting his faith in the Almighty whose strength is limitless to exceed all our expectations. Look out daily for Nehemiah’s Wall in 2015 and do invite friends to subscribe to the free email or social media posts. I am praying someone with a burden to be used by God in building will receive a fresh vision and get the job done.
