Our Essential Reads

With only 16 days until the release of Bliss – we wanted to share some of our favorite reads as seen on MTV.com.  We do not have boundaries when it comes to genres: cookbooks, self-help, fashion, romance, young adult…reading for us is a form of meditation as we disconnect from technology and focus on what is in front of us, our current book, and not what is beeping around us.

Reading is not as popular as it used to be, and both being avid readers and self-confesswed book worms we want to hear about all of your favorite reads below:

“The Four Agreements” by Don Miguel Ruiz

“This book is the rules of life, period. There’s no better way to enjoy the beach than to broaden your mind while you are at it.”

“A Tale of Two Besties: A Hello Giggles Novel” by Sophia Rossi

“Much like us, this tale of true friendship is what we are all about (also from fellow bloggers and besties Sophia Rossi and Zooey Deschanel!).”

“Summer Sisters” by Judy Blume

“This is a classic, albeit for a more mature audience, but a must for every girl’s book collection.”

“#GirlBoss” by Sophia Amoruso

girl boss

“Every woman’s motivational bible. Sophia Amoruso is kick ass and a total inspiration.”

“Real Girl’s Kitchen” by Haylie Duff

rgk

“This cookbook is great for learning some real meals for the real girl! For foodies like us, cookbooks are like novels. But one, wise word of advice: make sure to read it on a full stomach.”

“Front Roe: How to Be the Leading Lady in Your Own Life” by Louise Roe

“This is the fashion bible with easy ways to look chic and dress well with little extras. It’s not about buying a new wardrobe; it’s about making what you have in your closet work for you. And don’t forget, confidence is key!”

And last but not least….

“Bliss” by Shay Mitchell & Michaela Blaney
