always knew she would be an author. Heidi is passionate about writing, and writes fiction, as well as poetry. In her spare time, Heidi enjoys music, genealogy, all things Celtic, and chick flicks. A native of the Midwest, Heidi now resides in the Pacific Northwest with her husband and three daughters. Investigating the Heart is Heidi���s debut novel.

Young: Tell us about your Latest Book/Book about to be released? Release Date? And can you give us a teaser?

Heidi Renee Mason (H.R.M.): Investigating the Heart is women���s fiction/suspense. It will be released on September 4, 2015. After the death of her husband in a plane crash, Emma McCoy, a single mom of three, has given up on love. When she meets Liam O���Reilly, an FBI agent who is new in town, the chemistry is immediate.  Emma tries to keep her distance, but Liam is determined to win her over.  As the two navigate their feelings, Emma���s resolve begins to crumble. What Emma doesn���t know is that Liam is connected to her past in a way that she could never have imagined, and this connection could put their future in jeopardy.  In the small town of Beckland, Ohio, danger is the last thing that Emma expects.  However, since Liam���s arrival, it seems like peril is waiting around every corner.

Young: What other books/short stories have you written?

(H.R.M.): Investigating the Heart is my debut novel. I have written magazine articles, short stories, poetry, and I worked as a Staff Writer for a newspaper in the past.

Young: Do you publish in e-book, print, or both?

(H.R.M.): My book will be available in both print and e-book formats.

Young: What do you think are the biggest challenges for the type of writing that you do?

(H.R.M.): The biggest challenge for me is finding adequate time to devote to writing. As a home schooling mom, my schedule revolves around my girls��� schedules.

Young: So with your latest work released/or being released, what comes next? What can we expect from you in the future?

(H.R.M.): I am currently writing my second novel, with a working title of Hope Found. It is in the very beginning stages, so I am excited to see where it ends up. 

Young: What is your routine once you start writing a book?

(H.R.M.): Once I start writing a book, I feel an intense need to finish it. I am extremely focused and driven, so I have to work hard to pace myself. 

Young: Where do you see yourself in five years?

(H.R.M.): In five years, I hope to have several more books to my credit. I hope I am doing what I���m doing now���being a wife and mother and following my passion to write.

Young: Have you ever experienced Writer's Block?  If so how did you work through it?

(H.R.M.): The best way to conquer Writer���s Block is to write. Start writing and let the words pour out of you. They may not be the perfect words, but sometimes that���s when the magic happens.
