Heavy Cat Show Competition!

I'm just here for the treats... and some chicken out of my human's sandwich

My human brought me to a cat show in Palm Springs, and it was a tough one! But before I get into that, I want to tell you about the hotel room I stayed in.

Sadly, Bird TV was off for the night

My human was not thrilled that the wifi was a bit wonky, but I liked it because there was a nice window view — and ledge to enjoy it.

Never any peace!

Unfortunately, there wasn’t much privacy! My human kept peeking under the curtain if she didn’t know where I was.

Play acting my version of the Headless Horsecat

I loved the bed and spent a lot of time messing around on it! Can you find my head?

I think it's 17:67?

The clock was a little weird. Luckily my human uses her phone as an alarm clock so we could get to the cat show on time!

Blue cards for boys and pink for girls - remember that if you go to a cat show!

Here is why this weekend’s cat show was so hard for me! The boy, number 150, was my competition (I’m number 151, in case you didn’t know). You can’t see him very well in this photo, but he is bigger and fluffier than me and he kept getting Best Somali over me, even though the judges often liked me too.

I almost did use it, though!

For me, however, cat shows aren’t just about competing against other cats. I also visited with my latest advertiser, Almost Invisible Cat Litter! I really do use their litter… but I managed not to use their display.

He won several fans at this show!

My human also got to watch my younger half brother in some judging rings! He is just six months old and he is doing very well, considering that he is a blue Somali. Even though he has lots of amazing qualities and warmth to his coat — and personality — it is harder for him to make it to finals because he is blue! The ruddy colors, like me, often get favored over other colors of Somalis (in case you are wondering, blue is a dilute version of ruddy), and the males, like my competition, get favored over females. That’s just the way it is. But he got some finals and impressed quite a few judges because his quality couldn’t be denied.

I'm still glad that was over!

And I did get some finals too! Even though this was not an easy show for me, I still got to enjoy myself and visit with some really nice judges.
