POETRY: JUST BECAUSE YOU’RE IN A GOOD MOOD IT DOESN’T MEAN THEY ARE BY PAUL TRISTRAM

Be careful when you walk out of your front door, of a morning

with that brilliant, dazzling smile upon your beautiful chops

and that childlike twinkle in your winking eye.

My God, you are just asking for trouble

and serves you damned well right when it comes along.

You can’t just walk about the place like you own it,

upsetting people with your whistling good humour

and spring in your happy step, you’re just taking the piss.

How dare you rub their faces in your sense of well-being,

reminding them just how pathetic, miserable, bitter, mean

and twisted they have let their rotten Souls become.

The very cheek of you is disgusting and astounding,

there should be a Law against it, they should bring back

hanging or maybe the stocks in the Town’s Centre even.

Christ, the crowd would be massive, you’d not find one

friendly face amongst them and you’d know all of them.

They’d be pelting bricks not cabbages, and you’d deserve it,

you’d soon have ‘a care in the world’ then, you Annoying Cunt!
