A Beautiful Storm Contest

I’ve been looking forward to this day for a very long time, because today marks the start of my brand new trilogy, LIGHTNING STRIKES. I’ve long been fascinated by lightning, rainclouds, and all things weather—just like Alicia Monroe in BEAUTIFUL STORM. An old Mayan legend says lightning will reveal all that must come to light. And the events of BEAUTIFUL STORM are no exception.

I hope you’ll fall in love not only with Alicia and her hero Michael, but also with the mystery that befalls them. This book was so much fun to write, and my hope is that it will be equally fun for you to read!

To celebrate, I’d like to offer a special contest just for my website visitors. On October 10, three lucky readers will win an autographed Callaway novel.

All you need to do to enter is leave a comment below sharing your favorite storm memories and stories. Can’t wait to read what you’ll share!

Lightning Lingers (Lightning Strikes Trilogy) by Barbara Freethy

When her father’s plane mysteriously disappeared in the middle of an electrical storm, Alicia Monroe became obsessed with lightning. Now a news photographer in Miami, Alicia covers local stories by day and chases storms at night. In a flash of lightning, she sees what appears to be a murder, but when she gets to the scene, there is no body, only a military tag belonging to Liliana Valdez, a woman who has been missing for several months.

While the police use the tag to jumpstart their stalled investigation, Alicia sets off on her own to find the missing woman. Her search takes her into the heart of Miami’s Cuban-American community where she meets the attractive but brooding Michael Cordero, who has his own demons to vanquish.

Soon Alicia and Michael are not just trying to save Liliana’s life but also their own, as someone will do anything to protect a dark secret…

Stephanie My favorite storm memory was during hurricane Ivan in Florida my mom, sister and i made the best out of a bad situation by playing games by candle light. It was hard not having electricity but we always knew how to have fun.

Shelly Fabian My husband and I just braved Hurricane Joaquin to visit our daughter at UNCW. We intended to go to River Fest, but it was cancelled. Good company, food, and good old fashioned games filled our weekend together.
