Can you help this family?

Another post on something completely different. My friend fire_and_a_rose tells me that her former housemate is living without heat thanks to the negligence of another housemate, who is out of town and has left them with a $900 bill. She says:

The oil ran out; Mylia called the company, and was shocked to learn that they had never been paid, and with late fees now owe over $900. Harrison [[Jo: that is, the other housemate]] would not answer texts or emails for days--he was out of town--and when he came back said that he gave teh check to someone else at work to mail.

He also said he would pay the bill Friday, the end of the week, which means no heat till then.

Mylia's daughter is sick. Her cat is sitting on the heater, crying. And Mylia herself just came out of the ER with health problems related to lungs. All three are living in her room with one electric heater.

On top of that, the pipes are at risk, as is the oil heater itself.
