Twitter erupted in conversation on Wednesday about ideals of masculinity and their effects, using the hashtag #MasculinitySoFragile . With over 19,000 tweets in a day, users discussed masculinity as a fragile concept needing support and susceptible to injury.

While he was not the first to use the hashtag, @anthoknees prompted the trending topic with a series of tweets about fragile masculinity which he says often causes harm in intimate relationships.
