Two bargains worth checking out

First blood spilled today! I hope I don’t sound too ghoulish for being happy about that, but it means the end is in sight and I won’t really be trapped in this chapter till the end of time.
Here is a bargain from Amazon. For tomorrow only, September 25th, Amazon is offering their Amazon Prime at only $67 instead of its usual $99; this is to celebrate all the Emmy awards they won on Sunday. I am a huge fan of Amazon Prime, have been a member for years; just forall the books that I buy, it is well worth the price to me. So here is the link; check out what they have to say about its benefits so you can decide if you’d like to take advantage of the sale.

And here is another bargain to check out. My friend Valerie alerted me today that a historical mystery is available for free on Kindle. I have not read any of the books in the series, but it is set in France during their Revolution in the 18th century, so that does sound interesting. And Valerie recommends it highly. The title is Cavalier of the Apocalypse by Suzanne Alleyn. I don’t know if it is available for free just on Amazon’s mother ship.

Susanne The ebook is now perma-free at Amazon.com and has been free at other outlets (Barnes & Noble, Kobo, iTunes, etc) for a few months. Enjoy. :-) Sharon, thanks for the plug!

Sharon I am really looking forward to reading it, Susanne. I love that period of history; I've always had a soft spot for Danton. :-) My friend Val raves about your series, and we have the same taste in books. Thanks for letting us know that it is available on other outlets. I'll pass that along on Facebook.

CatBookMom Looking forward to reading The Cavalier of the Apocalypse, too.

Found this author via her book Medieval Underpants and Other Blunders: A Writer's (and Editor's) Guide to Keeping Historical Fiction Free of Common Anachronisms, Errors, and Myths Third Edition , which finally explained to me why earlier, women had no seam in their undies.

Hope you enjoy it - I think I found it via OverDrive at the LA PubLib. I'm neither writer nor editor, just a reader with a 'satiable curiosity.

Susanne Thanks to you both! And thanks, CatBookMom (love the handle) for the info that people do indeed find my books, from time to time, via OverDrive. :-)

Stephanie Susanne, I've added the book CatBookMom suggested to my pile to purchase. It looks fascinating!

Chris Hunt Arrghh! Didn't see the Amazon Prime post in time. Did get the free book though.

Erika Altensee Obsessed with my new Kindle Fire ($49.99) and books! Must have them on Kindle to read into the wee hours of the night. Just got Cavalier of Apocalypse. Prime is the way to go for book lovers (and shoppers of odds and ends).

Leila It is not free any more on Amazon UK but still only 99p so well worth it at the price. Amazon Prime is £79 here in the UK Sharon. Sadly for me; a pensioner, a widow and left with a mortgage, it's just that bit too expensive all in one go, however, Christmas is a-coming!!!!!
