Mt. Wilson was where Edwin Hubble first discovered in the 20s that the universe extended beyond our Milky Way, and where Albert Einstein went to work on his theory of general relativity. Since then, light pollution from LA has forced most astronomers away from this beautiful observatory and off to darker skies in Hawaii and elsewhere–but to know that we peered through the same lens at the universe as Edwin Hubble and Albert Einstein renders me speechless. Hubble’s name is still on one of the lockers. The treasures we continue to unearth close to home! ❤️☀️
