Wordnik is an online dictionary/thesaurus; and, if you didn’t know, a thesaurus is what tells you the synonyms of words. Wordnik also tells you a word’s etymology—its word-history…

Or, in their own words, “…we’re the world’s biggest and friendliest English dictionary.”
