Game on. Style me!

I tried something new this month...

While at a work conference in California, I heard about this new online styling service. I loved the concept so I thought, why not? Game on. Style me!

There are a few of these types of companies out there, but the one I chose was Stitch Fix, a San Francisco based company.  They make it simple and fun to sign up. You simply complete a survey letting them know your style tastes and preferences, and of course, sizes. Then for a nominal fee, a stylist chooses and sends five items for you to try. You pay for the items you keep and return the ones you don't want. The fee is credited toward your purchase and you receive a discount if you keep all five items. You can even choose how often you receive a Stitch Fix box.

Okay, ready to see what my stylist chose? Here we go...

19 Cooper Rosetta V-Neck Top, green printThe 19 Cooper top felt great on but it was a little too boxy for me. I also wasn't sold on the print. [RETURNED]

Market & Spruce Bernadette Lace Overlay Raglan Top, teal/blackI liked the teal since it pushed me beyond my black/gray/white "go to" colors and the lace was a nice detail. However, the black sleeves reminded me of my high school softball jersey. [RETURNED]

Liverpool Anita Skinny Pant, blackOkay, so I pulled these pants from the box and thought: No way. They're too skinny! I usually opt for a curvy cut pant. But I tried them on and LOVED THEM! The fabric is soft and it has a nice give to them so you don't have to do the shimmy and squeeze dance to get them on. [KEEPER]

RD Style Carissa Airy Knit Cardigan, black It's hard to get an idea of what this looks like from this picture, so I took one while wearing it so you can see the best part - the fringe! Fringe is "in" this season and it was one of my requests when ordering. I love this sweater and it goes with everything - jeans, khaki or gray skirt, dress pants, you name it.

Yup, this baby will get lots of wear this fall. [KEEPER]

I saved my least favorite item for the end...

Shiraleah Lee Fringe Hobo Bag, blackThe bag.

I know the stylist was trying to fulfill my fringe request, but this bag was not at all for me. [RETURNED]

Out of the five items, I only purchased the pants and sweater. Returns are super easy. I just slipped the other three items into the supplied postage paid envelope and popped it in the mail.

Another great perk from Stitch Fix is their styling sheet. It included a note from the stylist and different options for the items in the shipment...

Even though I wasn't thrilled with everything in the box, the quality was fantastic. Overall, it was a great experience and I'm already looking forward to October's box.

Note: I've received no perks or benefits from Stitch Fix for this unsolicited and honest review of my experience.
