i really like charlie and i dont know why. whats her personality like?

I like her too! You might see more of her in the future*. She’s based on a friend of mine, but that’s difficult to pull off maybe! 

Carroll the cloud lady in The Tower was supposed to be entirely based on another close friend of mine, cartoonist Emily Carroll. 

When I started writing her I was thinking “Here we go, here’s Emily.” She was going be frank and funny and married to a bluejay named Kate, but as I wrote the character it all made less sense. It was funnier and more interesting for Carroll to be isolated, defensive, dissatisfied, and perpetually running away from her problems. That’s not Emily. Emily’s great.

So I don’t know about Charlie! I know in my head Charlie is like my friend Lacey but we’ll see how it comes together! I think no matter what Charlie is a unique and interesting pup.
