Presentation Saber



Dated: late 19th century
Culture: Austrian
Measurements: overall length 77cm

The sword has a simple, single-edged blade, with a wide fuller, and a tang. The gilt silver hilt features bas-relieved decorations and engraved floral motifs, and a pierced guard enriched with stones. The scabbard has two rings, decorated with two blue enamelled segments, enriched with small gilt elements and a pearl at the centre, the enamelled parts are alternated to gilt silver elements enriched with cabochon stones. The rear surface of the scabbard is finely engraved.
