I loved reading about Murtagh and Jamie's relationship. I can't wait to see the next season!

Excellent! This will be the one episode I watch in season 2. I'm not liking the characters and story as written by the show's writers, and I've given up on watching. Maybe it will seem more like Jamie and Claire from the books if written by the original author. :)
I cannot wait to see it! The only bad thing about the tv series is I have to wait for the next season or the next week's episode.....I'm not very patient! Unlike reading a book - I just keep reading if I can't put it down!
I read your whole post and thought it was fascinating. I am really looking forward to seeing how your efforts turn out but I'm sure that knowing you, the script will be fantastic.
Does it bother you when the screen writers veer vastly away from your story/manuscript? I found it annoying that the time lines in the last two seasons were changed. Example the witch trials were supposed to be in the autumn, yet it was spring in Scotland. Then when Claire goes to rescue Jamie it was to be in deep winter, with a blizzard, and she fought off wolves, but the show did not do that, no fighting wolves, no snow, no real time spent at the laird's home before Jamie was shuffled off to an abbey in Scotland. It was to be in France where he recovered, again in winter. It has taken awhile for me to put aside my complaints of mishandling the characters and story, and just watch it for pure enjoyment. Jamie (Sam) has turned out to be very provocative, sexy, charming yet pragmatic, a perfect now Jamie. Claire (Caitriona)has the stuff of the books character, yet she is physically different from your depiction, as are a few other characters. Overall, the series is beautifully rendered, lovely, compelling, and exciting once I stop remembering your books, and overly critiquing the film.
This has been a long time coming, a dream realized, even if it gets skewed a bit. Congrats, Diana. I look forward to the next season in France.
I've loved every moment of the TV series even if it was slightly different. My husband loves it, too, and he's never read any of the books. We are excited for the new season to start.
Personally, I don't mind changes like switching seasons. It's the way they've changed the characters that made me stop watching. I like the actor who plays him, but Jamie is nothing like he is in the book. I couldn't stand him in Lallybroch. That wasn't the same character at all. From what I've seen he's nothing like book Jamie in the finale either. They made him suicidal and weak -- nothing like after he's rescued in the book and he's trying to joke and comfort Claire. I don't think the writers understand Jamie or Claire in the show. It hurts to see my favorite book characters and their love story diminished so. I'll stick to reading from now on. :)
I realize it is hard to stay strict to the book and I don't mind. It does't effect my love of the story. Looking forward to the next season.

The show started filming in the fall, so the entire timeline was flipped ..."Yes, I can understand some of that change, but when a time or season is crucial to the story, then I think it is important. By the way, Claire went through the stones not in MAY as you say, but in October it was Samhain (Halloween).
