Errata...

The book The STREAM TONE: The Future of Personal Computing? very probably contains a number of imperfections and inconsistencies, which are due to simple human error, the extended period of time over which the book was written, and the use of the Web as the book's primary information source.

Errata (corrections & updates) for The STREAM TONE: The Future of Personal Computing? can now be obtained, free-of-charge for personal use, from the Errata page on the www.TheStreamTone.com website, here: http://www.thestreamtone.com/errata.html

Louise L. I don't think I have ever come across a book that has errata. Well done! What a great idea!

T. Many thanks for your comment. The book contains a lot of information about things of a technical nature that are very likely to change in some way, shape, or fashion in the relatively near future, and I wanted to try and keep some of those things as up-to-date as possible, moving forward. I am not sure how successful I will be in this regard but I thought I would give it a try. Also by creating an errata document I now have a practical mechanism for issuing corrections, because every author finds something that they would REALLY like to fix JUST after their book has been sent for publication, which of course is always far too late to do anything about it. So now, if I find a mistake, I have a way to correct it. I have to say that it really takes the frustration away from a situation that is usually an itch you can't scratch!
