My Dad is Turning Into a Vampire!
Yep, you read the title right. My dad is turning into a vampire. It is a slow process, about two weeks long now and ongoing.
It all started with the announcement of needing cataract surgery. 'It is to clear up the eyes,' they claimed.
A few days after the first eye was done, I met my father in the driveway, mail in hand. "It is too bright out here. The sun is too damn bright," he complained, grabbed the mail and fled into the darkness of the house.
Half the time now, he complains the lights in the house are too bright when others are home.
Earlier this week, I drove him to the followup appointment for the second eye. Again the complaint about the brilliant sun made an appearance. "It is too bright out, even with the sunglasses."
I glanced at him while stopped at the light. I couldn't even see his eyes past the blackness of the lens. He has brown eyes, I have blue eyes! The sun should have been bothering me more than him!
In the waiting room, he had to don the sunglasses again to wait for the doctor. There's light in there, but it wasn't the glaring daylight of outside.
Uh-huh. I am waiting for him to lose his reflection next.
