Wrinkles Suck!

As you can probably tell by the title of this post, I’m not really enjoying the aging process.  And…you’re probably wondering what in the hell sparked this thought all of a sudden.  Well let me tell you! First of all…when you become a middle aged woman, selfies are no longer your friend!  The struggle is real!  Every time I take a new selfie all I see are those fucking wrinkles and bags around and under my eyes!  Believe me, I have tried everything and nothing takes away what heredity gave you!  It sucks!

When I was younger I could totally get away without wearing make-up. I didn’t even really care for it much.  A little mascara and lip gloss went a long way.  Then enter my 30’s.  I got a little brave and started using foundation, blush and eye liner and oooh lala!  I was rockin that shit like a cat loves catnip! I like to refer to those as the good old days.  Now that I’m in my 40’s, I struggle to find the right concealer that doesn’t get stuck in my wrinkles and laugh lines. I use neutral colors on my eye lids so I don’t look like a $3 whore, because I’m worth waaay more than that. HA!  And…now…well, it’s kind of like your boobs and ass, everything starts to sag.  Thank God for Victoria’s Secret!

I took a selfie this morning to promote how much I love a certain color of lipstick and I can’t believe I posted that shit to Facebook!  Honestly!  What the fuck was I thinking?  I put it all out there for the whole world to see. All of my beautiful imperfections just out there staring back at me and all of my family and friends.

I guess there is one good thing about getting older. It’s the ability to get a really bad hair cut that you hate, wrinkles, bags and let’s not forget hooded eye lids…but you just don’t give a fuck anymore!  Your give a fuck meter got up and went the moment you took that selfie and posted it for all to see.

The moral of the story?  Even though we ALL have imperfections, it’s important to remember that no matter what our outer appearance looks like, it’s what’s on the inside that truly matters.  My advice is to avoid selfies!  Those fuckers do nobody good, unless you’re 20 years old and all of your skin is still nice, tight and perfect.  I’m kidding!  Embrace your beauty and remember…love yourself just the way you are.  Even if you notice every little imperfection.  You’ve earned it!
