There are certain things in life that just do not make sense to me. Like gay people or minorities...

There are certain things in life that just do not make sense to me. Like gay people or minorities who are Republicans in the US. Why support a party that actively discriminates against your very existence? 

Or being a fan and supporting a man who has stated publicly that fan(girls) should commit mass suicide to rid the earth of their “female cancer”. Or anyone who supports that. Why support anyone who feels this way? We can try to explain it away with ignorance, like “oh, but he/they have only met one kind of fan before; who can blame them if they’ve only met the crazies?” However, this just isn’t true. Why tolerate that? I’m genuinely interested in hearing people’s defences for this. Go on, reply and tell me why this is okay for you, if it is.
