I never quite understood how "write what you know" could work in a fantasy setting, but you've truly opened my eyes.
Previous attempts at writing have seen me adopt a detached narrator akin to Feist or Tolkien, but I've never been happy with more than a page or two. Truly putting myself into the shoes of my protagonist has produced an effort so much superior that I am staggered.
