What Sword Art Online Has Taught Me

To all who are reading this,

Aincrad arc posterSword Art Online is an anime that originally began life as a series of light novels by Reki Kawahara. The novels follow the adventure and emotional drama of Kazuto Kirigaya also known as 'Kirito', a hardcore gamer, who becomes trapped within a role-playing video game in the year 2022. That game is Sword Art Online, and it's a world where anything can happen. Except it isn't just a game you play. You live it, with many different levels, skills, abilities and weapons, with your life hanging precariously in the balance.

Gradually, the series grew and the world now contains various characters such as Leafa from the Fairy Dance arc, Sinon from Phantom Bullet and Yuuki from Mother's Rosario. It's a popular series, that not only has novels, but manga counterparts, video games and various merchandising such as figurines, jewellery and key rings just to name a few. Fans are also taking to cosplaying popular characters such as Kirito, Asuna and Yui.

Sword Art Online may have a lot of technological terminology that's linked with video games, but at the same time, at the heart of it, there's so much more.
And it has taught me:
- to fight for what you believe in- don't be afraid to fall in love- you can't help who you fall in love with- you are stronger than you have ever thought- you can be whole again- friends can be your family- being a gamer is cool- you are not alone with your thoughts, feelings and emotions - live your life whilst you have it- find your passion, your hobby, your animus and love it!
Sword Art Online also has some incredibly catchy theme songs, which in going to leave here for you!

What show has given you lessons in life? Are there any lessons that you live by?
Yours, with eternal ink,
Zoe
